Finally, I found a restaurant in Paris that truly hit the spot. It’s called Breakfast in America, and I won’t apologize for loving American food. My history with French cooking has been… let’s just say unfavorable, but after weeks abroad I was craving a proper breakfast.
The place is styled like a classic U.S. diner, complete with Route 66 on the menu. Some of you know I’m a regular at the Lumberjack Shack back home, so naturally I ordered the Lumberjack Special. Let me tell you—those home fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Ever.
A little fun fact: Breakfast in America was opened in 2003 by an American expat who missed diner culture as much as I did. It quickly became a Parisian favorite, especially among students and travelers.
So, if you ever find yourself in Paris, make time for this spot. Heck, book a hotel in the neighborhood—you’ll thank me after that first bite of bacon and eggs.
